Hyundai Connectivity Upgrade

Hyundai is pleased to provide this free software upgrade for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is a one-time upgrade — all subsequent software upgrades will be uploaded to your vehicle through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Enter your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to download the upgrade.

Your Vehicle Identification Number is a unique 17-character-long code assigned to your vehicle. It should be clearly visible on the driver’s side interior dash or the driver’s side door jamb. You can also find it in your vehicle’s insurance and ownership documents.

Is my vehicle eligible for the Android Auto/Apple CarPlay software upgrade?

In the "Eligible Vehicles" section above in this webpage, you will find the list of the models subject to the software upgrade. Please check the model, model year and multimedia system (i.e. navigation) of your vehicle.

My vehicle is eligible for the upgrade.
How do I know if my vehicle already has Android Auto & Apple CarPlay?

You can check this from vehicle screen! Please follow this procedure.

  1. Press "Setup" on touchscreen or press the "Setup" button.
  2. Find and press "Connectivity" from the menu.
  3. If you see both Android Auto & Apple CarPlay settings in "Connectivity" menu, your vehicle already has the software.
  4. If there is no "Connectivity" menu or if there is only one of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, your vehicle does not have the software.

My vehicle is not eligible for the upgrade.
Is there any other way to have Android Auto & Apple CarPlay?

We are very sorry, but only the models stated in "Eligible Vehicles" section are subject to the software upgrade.

The USA offers Android Auto & Apple CarPlay for my model. Why not in Canada?

We are very sorry, but due to the market difference between Canada and the US, such as French language support, there could be some difference in eligible models between two countries.

Is BlueLink the same as Android Auto & Apple CarPlay?

Upgrade

Can I use my phone or tablet to download?

Sorry, but the software download only works with desktop or laptop computers. It supports both Windows and Mac OS.

Can I shut off the vehicle while upgrading the software?

The upgrade takes up to 1 hour. We recommend the vehicle to be parked in a well-ventilated area with the ignition on.

Can I drive my vehicle while upgrading the software?

While upgrading the software, some of the vehicle functionalities are limited. We do NOT recommend operating the vehicle while upgrading the vehicle.

Troubleshooting

I downloaded the software and tried to upgrade.
But I see this error message on vehicle screen: "Please check the update memory and try again."

We are sorry to hear the upgrade didn't go well. After downloading the file from the website, please run the file from your computer. This will automatically extract the software into either USB or SD card, depending on the multimedia system of your vehicle. Please see the upgrade instruction in this website for detail procedure.

I see an error message on vehicle screen to contact Customer Service.
(Error "106" on bottom right corner)
